About
Lauren Wilner is a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. She received her PhD in Epidemiology in 2026 from the University of Washington. Her work is at the intersection of public health, data science, and environmental health. Lauren's research uses quasi-experimental methods and satellite-based Earth observation data to study how climate-driven disasters — particularly wildfires and power outages — affect health. Previously, she worked at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation as a statistical modeler for the Global Burden of Disease project and as an Allan Rosenfield Global Health Fellow at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Lauren is passionate about leveraging novel data sources and methods to advance population health.
