About
Khushi Shah is a strategic designer and engineer working at the intersection of Earth observation, community engagement, and design. They are in the early stages of building Kinara, a civic design practice focused on the gap between what EO systems produce and what the communities they monitor can actually use. Trained in mechanical engineering, Khushi has spent the past year conducting primary research across UK and US fisheries ecosystems, interviewing fishers, scientists, regulators, and legal scholars, and developing a methodology for diagnosing where satellite data adoption breaks down at the community level. They presented this work at NOAA's Cooperative Research Summit and ASU's Space Governance Lab Governance of Emerging Technologies Symposium in 2026.
Khushi holds an MS in Strategic Design and Management from Parsons School of Design and is a Next Generation Foresight Practitioners Fellow, working under the Emerging Tech Track to tackle this project from a foresight and futures thinking perspective. Khushi also serves as Vice President of Space Pride, an international nonprofit, and their artistic practice includes work permanently archived on the Moon via NASA's CLPS program.
