About
Jack Brandy is Director of Geospatial Solutions at Clear Fracture, a GovTech company in Vienna, Virginia. His current work spans agentic data management for geospatial systems, automated cartography, and data ETL for S-100 migration, alongside a USGIF white paper he leads on human-machine teaming in Maritime Domain Awareness. He spent eleven years at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, most recently as Foundation GEOINT AI Coordinator and as Foundation Digital Twin Mission Manager, and earlier as a GEOCOG program manager. He also directed IC Postdoctoral research there on cloud forecasting and on collection optimization across platforms with heterogeneous capabilities.
His interest in conservation comes from two directions. Wildlife tracking is a genuine dual use of GEOINT tradecraft, since sensitive locations, fragmented vocabularies, and reluctant data owners are the same problems in a different domain, with the advantage that the data is open enough to reason about in public. It is also a way to explain what GEOINT actually does to audiences who will never read a program document but will follow an animal across a map.
He holds an M.S. and B.A. in Geography and Environmental Resources from Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
