David Saah, PhD, is Managing Principal and Co-founder of Spatial Informatics Group, Professor and Director of the Geospatial Analysis Lab at the University of San Francisco, and Chair of the NASA Applied Sciences Advisory Committee. An environmental scientist and global leader in geospatial analysis, remote sensing, and wildfire science, he advances multiscale landscape monitoring and natural hazard modeling. David has led and contributed to globally impactful initiatives including SERVIR (a former NASA–USAID partnership), Collect Earth Online, Pyregence, and Planscape, developing innovative open-source tools to strengthen wildfire resilience and climate adaptation. He also works with state and federal partners to support strategic forest health and wildfire mitigation across California. He earned his doctorate in Environmental Science, Policy, and Management from UC Berkeley.
