As Deputy Director of WorldPop at the University of Southampton, Ian Coady assists countries in the development of modelled population estimates that can fill gaps in official statistics and support better decision-making. Prior to this role, he was a geospatial adviser to the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and lead geographic research at the Office for National Statistics. In his spare time, Ian is also a volunteer for the charity MapAction where he integrates geospatial data into the information management processes of disaster response.
